¿What is BAI ticket?
It is an invoicing control system that must be complied with in the three Provincial Tax Authorities, for companies and freelancers who carry out an economic activity and pay taxes in the Basque Country. This system is intended to prevent tax evasion by companies.
How does TicketBAI work?
To fulfill this obligation, companies have to implement in their management systems billing software adapted to the technical and legal requirements dictated by the Provincial Treasury and the Basque Government.
The issued invoice contains a Ticket BAI code and a QR code, with all the information about it. This system allows the chaining of invoices, signed electronically, to guarantee their authenticity and prevent them from being erased or manipulated once issued.

Once the billing system is mandatory, companies face an economic sanction: 20% of the turnover, with a minimum of 20,000 euros.
