The next update of Dynamics 365 Business Central 2025 Wave 2, whose deployment begins in October 2025, comes loaded with features that consolidate the solution as an increasingly intelligent, scalable ERP aligned with the needs of modern business.

1. Supply chain: greater logistical control, outsourcing and planning
The improvements introduced reinforce visibility and efficiency throughout the chain:
- Subcontracting in production processes: A complete logistics flow is introduced for the management of raw materials, components, and finished products between the company and the external supplier, including item traceability, flexible pricing by work center and date, and quality-controlled reception.
- Quality control in receptions and production: New extension that allows you to evaluate incoming or manufactured items with test plans, custom parameters, samples, and quarantine.
- Subcontracting in production processes: New functionality that allows you to manage the entire logistics flow with subcontractors: shipping of materials, receiving of finished products, traceability, and flexible pricing.
- Sales forecast based on previous year's history: A simpler estimation model is enabled, useful for companies with marked seasonality.
- Planning adjusted to lead time: Planners will be able to clearly view estimated shipping and receiving dates based on their procurement lead times.
- Improved demand sheet: greater transparency and simulation of decisions on supply, stock and purchases.
- More fields available The list of fields available for customizing pages on customer and product cards has been expanded. Fields have also been enabled on sales, purchasing, project, and service documents.
2. Finance: visibility, local control and ease of analysis
Key functionalities for the financial and accounting area are incorporated:
- Calculation of excise taxes: The calculation of excise taxes for regulated products will be automated, improving tax compliance and management.
- Automatic creation of multiple fixed assets: When recording a purchase invoice with multiple assets, Business Central will automatically generate a fixed asset record for each unit.
- New Audit Report
It allows you to print a report with all accounting transactions, collecting detailed information from the records and general ledger entries.
3. Copilot: Intelligent assistants for key business tasks
Business Central continues to invest in artificial intelligence applied to business:
- Copilot in accounts receivable tasks: You can suggest follow-up actions and compose emails based on the customer's situation.
- Copilot in products and catalogs: Automatic suggestions of descriptions for new products.
- Copilot on the claim form: support in decision-making on purchasing and production.
- Improvements in Sales Order Agent: It will allow you to automate the creation of sales orders from attachments such as PDFs, Excel files, and emails.
- General Copilot improvements: Optimized interaction with Copilot in more languages and more natural prompt understanding.
- Connecting agents to BC via MCP Server: Automate tasks like ordering, inquiries, and conversational support using Copilot Studio, OpenAI, or other agents.
These features allow you to save time, reduce errors, and focus on higher-value tasks.
4. Electronic documentation and more fluid collaboration
This wave also improves document management and internal and external collaboration.
- New E-Document Admin permission
Dedicated role to securely control e-invoicing configuration and services.
- Clearance Model
It will allow the AEAT or authorized certifiers to validate each invoice before sending it to the client, automating approvals and reducing errors.
- New e-documents for shipments and transfers
Aligned with tax requirements and without the need for custom development.
5. Sustainability: compliance with the CSRD Directive
A basis for monitoring and compliance is incorporated European Sustainability Regulation (CSRD), allowing companies to prepare the data needed for the sustainability reports required by the directive.
6. Other notable improvements
Ecommerce (Shopify): Improved integration: planning, purchasing, inventory control, and pricing. Simplified tax and regulatory compliance.
Reporting and analytics: Richer Power BI integration, embedded dashboards, analytics views, and self-service capabilities. Focus on sustainable and cross-financial reporting.
Administration and governance: Customer-managed encryption keys, Granular partner access by environment and improvements to extension and update management
